It is more or less certain that Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan is moving in the direction of entering into an understanding with Telugu Desam Party headed by Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the ensuring general elections.
But, it appears both Pawan and Naidu are yet to make up their minds in forging an alliance and contesting the elections together.
According to sources, Naidu would enter into an electoral understanding with Pawan and strike a seat sharing deal.
The TDP is expected to leave around 10-12 MLA seats and two MP seats to Jana Sena. The figures might slightly change during the final negotiations.
“Both the parties decided long ago to fight the elections together. However, for the sake of public consumption, Naidu and Pawan traded charges against each other initially but have gone silent now. As the election schedule is announced, they will come out in the open and forge an alliance,” sources said.
However, there is also a talk that the TDP and Jana Sena might not have an alliance at all and contest independently.
In the constituencies where YSR Congress party is strong, Jana Sena will field stronger candidates with money power, so that it would split anti-establishment votes. And in the TDP strongholds, Pawan will field lesser mortals.
Similarly, in a few constituencies where Pawan has strength and TDP is weak, Naidu will field weak candidates as part of friendly contests to ensure that Jagan does not win the seats.
And in the post-poll scenario, Pawan would extend support to the TDP!
