It is not a blockbuster and then it is not a dud too. Spicy siren Raku Preet has not just poured oodles of glamour but also delivered a decent performance as an actor in her latest Bollywood film De De Pyaar De that released last week. So, where is this film standing now?
According to trade reports, De De Pyaar De featuring Ajay Devgan, Tabu and Rakul Preet in the leads has collected Rs 44.73 crores ‘nett’ from the box office in four days (Friday to Monday). As the film made nearly 6.1+ crores on Monday, they say that it may easily collect another 30-40 crores in the second week. If it does pretty well, it may enter the 100 crores club, but it is a bit tough.
Directed by Akiv Ali, the film has the theme of a 50-year-old guy falling in love with a girl of his daughter’s age. Though many expected it to become a comedy caper, the film has lots of emotions and drama and that has made it a bit slower in mass centres.
Whatever this film may collect, Rakul Preet might go a long way in Bollywood for the kind of bombshell appearance she made in the film. But like she did in Tollywood, tomorrow if she says that ‘skin shows’ are not her cup of tea, then Bollywood might rethink.
