RRR makers have finalised on 25th March 2022 release date after long thought. They wanted to release on 7th January but Corona third wave has forced them to change their plans.
But 25th March doesn’t guarantee a two month long summer period free time like before. Due to Omicron wave, schools had to extend the portion completion dates till April end and exams will be conducted till 2nd week of May.
So, the movie has to face exam tension on top of IPL summer bonanza. If any new variants of viruses show up, it has to face it too.
Well, producers cannot hide the film forever in their cans but 25th March doesn’t seem to be an ideal date as families won’t come out to theatres until exams are over. Students and youths are the major demographics for films these days.
RRR seems to be targeted at youngsters as superhero style action sequences have been hinted, in Teasers. Ram Charan and Jr NTR kind of actors have huge fan base in youth and if youth are busy with exams then after the first weekend, repeat audiences will be a big problem.
IPL is adding two new teams to the tournament this year and longer holding at the theatres will also be a question for the film, as runtime is said to be close to three hours.
Exhibitors have to keep all their hopes on SS Rajamouli delivering another stunning film that will attract audiences to theatres even after two months after its release. Let’s hope that it is the case for RRR.
Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn and Ray Stevenson are also part of the cast of this epic film. DVV Danayya produced the film and MM Keeravani composed music.
