Google is one of the major tech giants that went for layoffs. We can understand the situation as global firms like Google could not retain their employees. Though the sacked employees were given some perks, many turned unemployed. Despite working for long years, the management removed them from their posts.
The ongoing developments hint that Google might sack a few more employees in the coming days. Sundar Pichai, the serving Chief Executive Officer of Google made some interesting comments in his recent interview. His comments started the debate on whether we are going to see more layoffs at Google.
Sundar Pichai said that the company is looking into every aspect so that the efficiency of the employees can be increased and this gives them a chance to re-look into cost management.
Whenever a company sacks its employees, the management says to make the workforce crisp and reduce costs. Now Sundar Pichai spoke about the costs and this started a debate on whether the company might reduce the employees count.
On the other hand, the big companies and giants are on a spree of removing employees. At regular intervals, companies are removing employees due to various reasons. Be it the lack of work, or projects to have a bigger workforce, the companies are slowly reducing the burden. While a few companies gave perks to the employees, a few companies simply sacked them.
It has to be mentioned here that a few months back, Google announced that as many as 12,000 employees would be sacked. However, the employees would be removed in a phased manner. The employees received emails saying that they lost their jobs.
