YCP MP Bats For Telugu

Contrary to Jagan government’s decision to promote English, YCP MP Raghurama Krishnnamraju has batted for Telugu language in Lok Sabha in the winter session of Parliament. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Ragurama Krishnamraju stressed the necessity to protect the mother tongue.

He has urged the Union Government to take measures to protect the spirit of Articles 350, 350 A of Indian Constitution. Article 350 of Indian Constitution entitles every person to submit a representation for the redress of any grievance to any officer or authority of the Union or a State in any of the languages used in the Union or in the State, as the case may be.

When TDP MP Kesineni Nani has raised a question about recognising Telugu as Classical Language and according Classical Language Status to Telugu, YCP MP Raghurama Krishnamraju has asked a follow-up question to this to protect the spirit of mother tongue.

Raju has asked the Centre to bifurcate the Telugu Academy on war-foot basis. “Telugu Academy’s assets worth hundreds of crore are still held in Hyderabad. According to the 10th Schedule of AP Reorganization Act, Telugu Academy’s funds need to be bifurcated in 58:42 ratio. What is the action taken on it?” said Raghurama Krishnamraju.

While YCP government has been strongly vouching for English as the medium of instruction in government-run schools, Raghurama Raju’s stand in Parliament session come as a contrary. TDP leaders are hitting out at the dual stand of YCP leaders
