It has been ten years since Gautam Vasudev Menon made Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, which has Simbu and Trisha in lead roles. The director had made the screenplay so interesting that the film turned out to be a blockbuster.
Gautham Menon turned 47 on Tuesday and he interacted with media and fans, where one of them asked whether he has any plans of directing Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa 2, and the director said that he started the works the sequel for the original.
He revealed that the film is based on what Karthik (Simbu) will do for next ten years. The director then added that he is ready to start the film if Simbu accepts his story. Also, he said he feels that only Simbu can play the role since the story is based on his character Karthik.
If this film really goes on floors as planned, there might be a sequel to Ye Maaya Chesave too. The journey and bonding of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, will be back on screen once again, taking all of us on a nostalgic trip. Let us see how far will the director and team take it.
Meanwhile, Gautham Menon is filming for his upcoming film which is titled Joshu Imail Pol Kaakha.
