Young and promising Bollywood hero Varun Dhawan is growing popular with each and every film. After making his debut in 2012 with ‘Student Of The Year’, Varun delivered many hits like ‘Main Tera Hero’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘ABCD 2’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, ‘Badri Ki Dulhania’ and many others in the span of 8 years.
Apart from acting in a lot of commercial films, Varun proved his acting prowess in acclaimed films like ‘Badlapur’, ‘Sui Dhaaga’ and ‘October’. Despite working on some artistic films, Varun claims that he wants to become a mass hero right from the beginning.
Speaking about mass films, he says, ‘Yes. Obviously I do enjoy mass films a lot. I think I have a blast when I do them. It’s difficult to do and it is larger than life, and you need to have immense conviction while doing them. I enjoy it. For me, making a film is about trying to please everyone but obviously the kind of reaction that you get from the common man is the most important thing.’
He recently came up with ‘Coolie No 1′ which got released in an OTT platform. When asked about how he feels about a film aimed at masses releasing on a digital platform which usually appeals to an urban set of audience, Varun was quick to reply,’ My house is in Juhu. I have grown up pretty much opposite Juhu beach. So, that is my audience. I can be fake and try and be cool now because my film is on OTT. But that (the masses) is my audience and that is who I work for. Anyone who says, ‘oh you are uncool because you are doing a massy film’, (my reaction would be) ‘Okay, I am uncool and I don’t care”
The actor is working on some interesting projects in Bollywood as of now and let us see where life takes him.
