His late father YS Rajasekhar Reddy has been “ignored” at YS Jagan’s Kakinada meet. Neither YSR’s pictures, flexis were seen nor the leaders, followers chant late YSR’s name during their speeches. It was all YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. All the leaders, supporters hailed only YS Jagan. A few hard-core fans of YSR were said to be disappointed at Kakinada meet. Right from the entrance of the meeting venue to the dais, there was no prominent picture of late YSR. This is clear that Jagan and his party is distancing from YSR and is effectively positioning Jagan as their leader.
Unlike 2014 polls where YSR was a significant topic and “Rajanna Rajyam” was an effective slogan, in 2019 poll campaign, YCP stresses Jagan as its leader. “Jagan Anna Ravali” and “Jagan Anna Kavali” are their slogans. The Vyakthi Puja of YS Jagan has touched new high at Kakinada meet.
Although YSR’s pet and popular schemes like 108 were recalled, YSR didn’t get due credit at Kakinada meet. The focus is YS Jagan and the objective is to get power in 2019. The moot question is that will Jagan succeed?
