YSR Congress party is in thoughts to change the candidate of Hindupur Parliament segment. The reason being CI Gorentla Madhav’s resignation is yet to be approved by the Andhra Pradesh government.
In January, Madhav took voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) but the state government and AP police department are yet to relieve him from the services. YSRCP is alleging that the TDP government is deliberately dodging Madhav’s resignation and so the CI had approached the court. The tribunal court did give a verdict in favour of Madhav. But still the state government did not respond due to unknown reasons.
With this episode going nowhere, YSRCP is considering to change the candidate as there is also less time for filing the nomination. Accordingly the party is holding discussions former judge Kuruba Kishtappa for Hindupur MP seat.
For now YSRCP is in wait and watch mode till the government takes any action on Madhav’s VRS.
