Is She Another Soundarya Of Tollywood

Keerthy Suresh’s quick rise in South to become one of the most wanted actresses can be attributed to her acting ability and girl-next-door looks. She has already received rave reviews and box office success with her cute actress image. The question is, can she repeat the same in commercial cinema?

In all of her hit films in Tamil and Telugu (Nenu Sailaja as well as Nenu Local), Keerthy played the characters having scope for acting but they were kind of reserved in glamor department. As she played to her strengths, she scored hits and good reviews as well.

Moving on to biggies, her first film starring a star hero, Vijay’s ‘Bhairava’ was released last month and was met with mixed response. Keerthy received negative response with many opining that she was a bad choice in a mass film. She was rebuked of not having the oomph and audacity to woo masses in commercial potboilers.

It is well known that Keerthy will be next seen opposite Pawan Kalyan in Trivikram Srinivas’s new directorial. Said to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer, the film is expected to have a glamorous role for Keerthy and fans of Pawan are now worried about how the cute actress can manage a glamorous character.

Besides Pawan’s film, Keerthy is also in consideration for new projects of other tollywood stars. If Keerthy doesn’t change her strategy at least for films of star heroes, all this present craze wouldn’t sustain after 3-4 films.

It is high time she followed the tactics of yesteryear actress Soundarya, who managed to become a favorite of commercial movie lovers although she never crossed the limits in the glamor aspect.
