Senior Telangana TDP MP Garikapati Mohan Rao today formally joined the BJP in the presence of the party’s National Working President Jagat Prakash Nadda. Mohan Rao has been continuing as a BJP MP in the Rajya Sabha.
A large meeting was held at Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Sunday evening. Speaking at the meeting, Garikapati turned emotional and broke into tears and said that he is leaving the TDP with a heavy heart. He described TDP as his mother party and wished TDP does well in Andhra Pradesh.
“I may not be there beside Chandrababu in his happiness, but I was always beside him in his tough times. T-TDP suffered hugely after Chandrababu moved to Amaravati. I am joining the BJP with a broken heart. BJP will surely rule Telangana in near future,” Garikapati said in his speech.
