Ever since the news broke out about the killing of all 4 accused in Disha’s brutal rape and murder in a police encounter, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has become social media hero. Social media hails VC Sajjanar as the Encounter Specialist and it recalls the 2008 Warangal encounter.
Not many know that VC Sajjanar was also the man behind famous Warangal encounter. He was the Warangal district’s Superintendent of Police in 2008. Sajjanar had led the team of policemen that killed the three acid attackers who had thrown acid and attacked two engineering girl students in Warangal in December 2008. Sajjanar had got huge applause back in 2008 in Warangal. Several girl students had queued outside his Warangal home and shook his hands and had garlanded him and presented him with bouquets and offered him sweets. Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister then. Allegedly, then CM YSR had given the instructions to go ahead.
Meanwhile, top cops have rushed to the Hyderabad encounter spot at Chatanpally, Shadnagar. Responding to the encounter, VC Sajjanar told media that police took all four accused to the scene to reconstruct the crime. Sajjanar said the accused had tried to steal the guns from police officers and escape the spot. He said police had to open fire to save themselves. He said two police officers were also injured.
