The news that shook Kollywood a few months back was the separation of actress Amala Paul and director AL Vijay.
On Tuesday, reports confirmed that the two had officially ended their two and a half year marriage after the District Family Court in Chennai, granted them a divorce.
The couple had tied the knot on June 12, 2014, after dating for close to four years. A lot of reasons had been cited for their separation, one of them being Amala being ill-treated by her in-laws apart from not being allowed to pursue acting.
AL Vijay had, however, deemed this news as false and claimed that the reasons for divorce were personal. The two had previously worked together in ‘Deivamagal’ in 2011 and Vijay starrer ‘Thalaiva’ in 2013.
