A rare and ‘Golden Duck’ by Kohli

Team India has leveled the three match series against West Indies by winning the second ODI held in Vizag. Rohit Sharma smashed a century while Kuldeep Yadav took a hat-trick that helped team India. But in this match a rare incident happened.

Indian captain Virat Kohli was dismissed on the first ball by West Indies captain Kieron Pollard. This is a rare ‘Golden Duck’ by Virat Kohli and his first in the ODIs in six years. Another feat in this same match is Windies skipper Pollard too was dismissed for zero in the first ball. This is a first in the ODI history that captains of both teams were sent to the pavilion without opening their scorecard.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma who scored his 28th ton joined the elite club of scoring more ODI hundreds in a calendar year. Surprisingly this list has only Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma becomes the second batsman and Indian too. Kuldeep Yadav too emerged as the only Indian bowler to take two hat-tricks in ODI cricket while pacer Mohammad Shami emerged as the leading wicket taker of the year.
