Ahead of the new cabinet formation, all ministers from the Andhra Pradesh submitted their resignations to chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the end of the cabinet meeting on Thursday.
It is known that the CM had announced at the time of forming the new government that he would reconstitute the cabinet after two and a half years to give an opportunity to others.
The current Cabinet, which consists of 24 Ministers, was sworn in on June 8, 2019. It was supposed to be in office till December 8, 2021. However, due to variety of reasons, the reshuffle of the cabinet was delayed. As per reports, the new cabinet would be sworn-in on April 11.
Meanwhile, the CM had already met AP Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and urged him to officiate the swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers.
As per Kodali Nani, at least 4 to 5 ministers from the present cabinet are expected to be taken in the new cabinet.
It is worth mentioning that Jagan is the third chief minister of the state to ask all his Ministers to resign from their respective positions. Earlier, T Anjaiah and N T Rama Rao also got their entire cabinet submit resignations on a signle day.
