After a successful public meeting at Nirmal on September 17, the BJP should have been smug and happy. But the programme has led to deep differences among the BJP leaders. In Adilabad district, where the meeting was held, the party is deeply divided over the way the meeting was held and the crowd mobilisation was done.
The aftershocks of the meeting are giving sleepless nights to the BJP leaders. In Adilabad district, an industrialist, identified as Mohan Rao Bhonsle, has recently joined the BJP. He had put up a large number of welcome banners. In all those banners, there was no photo of the state and the district president. District president Payal Shankar’s followers have torn down those flexies. This has now become a big issue and Bhonsle has taken the issue to the notice of party incharge for Telangana Tarun Chugh. The incharge is said to have admonished Shankar.
Meanwhile, Bhonsle is said to be having a running feud with another senior leader Rama Devi. It is being said that Rama Devi has not been on talking terms with this leader. Recently, when Rama Devi visited Bhainsa, a section of the party leaders raised slogans against her. Rama Devi believes that Bhonsle has instigated the party workers.
The BJP top leaders are now trying to resolve the differences between these leaders. They are now trying to talk to various groups and are trying to set things right. The top leaders are worried that instead of benefiting, the massive public meeting has actually deepened the differences among the leaders.
