AP High court imposed stay on single judge orders over Parishad polls

The Andhra Pradesh High Court Division Bench imposed a stay on MPTC and ZPTC elections in AP. The Division Bench granted a stay on the directions given by the Single Bench in the past cancelling the Parishad elections.

The SEC told the court that ballot boxes were to be given to other states. It is against this background that the trial of this case was sought to be expedited.

However, the tribunal clarified that there are no elections anywhere in the country at present and adjourned the next hearing to July 27.

The single bench of the AP High Court issued sensational orders on May 21 cancelling the Parishad elections in AP.

The court held that the Parishad elections in AP were not held following the orders of the Supreme Court.

The AP SEC, however, challenged the orders given by the single bench in the AP HC division bench.
