Vijay’s Diwali release Mersal has taken Tamil box office by storm. The film has grossed over Rs. 150 crore in five days, thus becoming the highest grosser among Vijay’s films.
It only took five days for the Atlee directed Mersal to surpass Vijay’s previous films. It is all set to breach the Rs. 200 crore mark very soon.
Mersal has surprisingly opened to mixed talk on its first day, but went onto gross Rs. 150 crore, thanks to the controversies surrounding it from day 1.
Mersal has been dubbed into Telugu as Adirindi, but the film is yet to get a release date as it hasn’t got the clearance from the Censor Board.
Adirindi was earlier slated for release on Oct 19 and later postponed to Oct 26. Release in this week looks unlikely as its Telugu version isn’t censored as yet. It may release on November 3rd or 10th as per latest developments.
Meanwhile, gossipmongers started to spread the news that Telugu remake of Mersal is underway. Sources confirmed that it is not true and the dubbed version will make it to theaters shortly.
