CBI gets to the bottom of Dr. Sudhakar’s case

The CBI has been investigating the case of Dalit doctor Sudhakar, after the High Court of Andhra Pradesh gave orders to do so. The CBI has uncovered a few truths about the case, and is yet to uncover many more, for which it has asked the High Court for an additional time of 2 months. The High Court has approved the request as well.

In Visakhapatnam district’s Narsipatnam, Dr. Sudhakar worked as an anesthesian in a hospital. He had asked the government for more masks and PPE kits, on account of the ever increasing threat of Coronavirus. When the government hadn’t responded properly to his requests, Dr. Sudhakar made his problem known via a video that went viral.

Following the release of the video, Dr. Sudhakar was suspended from his job by the government. Dr. Sudhakar had also been arrested by the Police when one day he was drunk and was creating ruckus on the roads, by abusing the government.

Speaking about the issue, Dr. Sudhakar had said that the government is exacting revenge on him because he had asked the government for more masks and PPE kits. He has also said that the government is intentionally labelling him as a mad man. This matter has become a national debate as well.

It is still to be known as tp who was responsible for the tonsuring of Dr. Sudhakar’s head, and who was responsible for Dr. Sudhakar’s half-naked torment on the road. There are so many more unanswered questions with regards to the case of Dr. Sudhakar, which the CBI is yet to unearth.

On the other hand, it is very sad to see that a medical practitioner – who is battling Coronavirus by being on the frontlines – suffer such a plight. It is also sad to see that people coulda get to doing such atrocities to Dalit individuals, who are to be viewed in the same way as the rest of the people do. Hopefully, the truth about such horrendous crimes will come out very soon.
