India has been reporting fewer Covid cases over the past few days. However, the happiness of seeing fewer Covid cases didn’t last long as the fresh Covid casualties are increasing with each day passing.As a major concern to India over the Covid outbreak, the country reported the highest single-day Covid casualties so far with 4,529 more casualties. Since the new cases have come down, the fatalities are increasing.
After reporting the highest single-day cases with 4,14,188 on May 7, India has been reporting a steady decline in fresh cases. Maintaining a steady downfall in case, India added as many as 2,67,533 in the past 24 hours. Indian now has a total of 2,54,96,330 cases.
Talking about the downfall of Covid cases, the Centre said, after increasing for the past 13 weeks, the positivity rate has been coming down in the country over the past seven days. Over the past two weeks, nearly 200 districts have been reporting a downfall in Covid cases, the government said.
Including 3,89,851 new Covid recoveries recorded in the past 24 hours, the total number of people declared cured of the virus mounted to 2,19,86,363. The active cases stood at 32,26,719.
Looking at the vaccine numbers in the country, a total of 18,58,09,302 beneficiaries were administered the vaccine so far, while as many as 13,12,155 people were vaccinated in the past 24 hours alone.
