Dhoni leads to first ever series victory in Australia

Critics who are pointing fingers at Mahender Singh Dhoni got the best reply as he led to India’s first ever ODI series victory on Australian soil.

Dhoni gave the perfect finishing touch to the third and final ODI between India and Australia played at Melbourne. India won the match with seven wickets to spare while Dhoni remained unbeaten with 87 runs. This is Dhoni’s third consecutive half-century in the series and he has rightfully bagged the ‘Man of the Series’ award.

Speaking at the presentation, Dhoni also credited Kedar Jhadav for the 121 run partnership which was crucial after Virat Kohli’s exit. In this game Dhoni was promoted to number four position but he added that he will bat wherever the team needs him.

Before that Kohli won the toss and put Australia to bat first. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took six wickets which restricted Australia to 230 runs. Chasing India lost openers Rohit and Dhawan. Later Kohli and Dhoni pushed the scorecard further. Then Dhoni and Kedar took the team to victory.
