In yet another bizarre incident, Bhopal BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur has claimed that consuming gau mutra (cow urine) can help beat the novel Coronavirus.
Speaking at a party event in Bhopal, Pragya Singh Thakur said, “I consumed cow urine daily, and it is a kind of acid which purifies my body. It also purifies the lungs and saves me from Covid-19 infection. I don’t take any medicine against corona but I am safe.”
After the video of her asking her party members to consume cow urine,
the 51-year-old MP received a lot of criticism from the opposition and medical experts. She, however, defended the statement.
Earlier, an MLA from BJP in UP Surendra Singh had also claimed that drinking cow urine essence has protected him from Covid-19.
However, many doctors opposed these claims and said that using cow urine could cause other infections like black fungus or mucormycosis, which can be deadly.
