The most affected people in India during the lockdown are migrant labourers. Lakhs of migrant laborers were stranded in several states, thousands of kilometers away from their native state.
The majority of them started walking towards their native villages despite all odds. While some labourers are able to reach their native places, some people lost their lives in the process.
Considering the sad plight of the migrant laborers, AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy passed orders that no migrant laborer in AP should be in trouble.
He asked the government officials to make the necessary arrangements for them to reach their native places by buses or trains. Thousands of migrant labourers stranded in AP are benefited with Jagan’s proactive measures.
The latest incident shows how Jagan’s initiative is helping the migrant labourers.
Neary forty migrant laborers were working in a construction site in the Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. They have requested the local authorities, government to send them to their native places in Odisha. But no one came forward to rescue them.
When they came to know about the help migrant laborers are receiving in the neighboring state AP, they have decided to utilize the opportunity to reach their homes. They walked forty kilometers to Chittoor. They reached District Collector’s office and requested the officials to send them to their native places.
The officials immediately arranged them temporary shelter and promised them to send their native places along with other migrant laborers from Odisha.
They are all very happy with the kind gesture of the officials and thanked the Jaganmohan Reddy government for helping them in tough times. The elderly among them blessed YS Jagan.
The incident has attracted the attention of the neighboring states and the news has been published in The Hindu. It is indeed a huge certificate to YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s welfare-oriented rule.
