After coming to power with resounding majority in Andhra Pradesh in May, the YSR Congress party headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is not sparing any Telugu Desam Party leader who had indulged in alleged illegal activities.
In a latest instance, the police on Saturday registered a case against TDP legislator from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi for allegedly resorting to forgery of land registration documents and distributing the same among the people before the recent elections.
The police registered the case against Vamsi following a complaint from Bapulapadu Tahsildar Narasimha Rao.
According to the complaint, Vamsi had allegedly forged the signature of Tahsildar in preparing fake land pattas and distributed the same to the poor.
“Thousands of houses were distributed in several villages in Perikidu, Koiyur and Kodurupadu in Bapulapadu mandal,” the Tahsildar said.
In another episode, the Srikakulam police filed a case against former MLA Kalamata Venkataramana and took him into custody on Friday for allegedly making inappropriate comments against the chief minister.
Already TDP legislator Chintamaneni Prabhakar has been in jail for quite some time, while cases have been filed against other TDP leaders like Karanam Balaram, S Chandramohan Reddy, Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu and others in various cases.
