He Only Forced Sasikala To Become CM?

The manner in which Panneerselvam took over Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s job after the demise of Amma (Jayalalitha) and mainly his resignation today, one would apparently wonder who and what internal matters are influencing the senior leader of AIADMK. Ever since Selvam took over the top job in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK cadre was left in confusion because of the growing popularity for Sasikala within the party.

Soon after Sasikala was elected as general secretary of the AIADMK last month, state cabinet ministers and other MLAs of their party chose to pitch for Chinnamma to take over the CM’s post. Amid the political row sparked in support of Sasikala, Pannerselvam has resigned today.

Although rumours were earlier abuzz that Pannerselvam was tentatively funding his support for BJP. On top of it, the Dravidian state was abuzz with a rumour that Sasikala has pressurised his party MLAs to dethrone him from power, but he has surprised everyone by making the road easy for party president Sasikala. Even during the fight for Jallikattu, it was widely under discussion that ‘Sasikala had been attempting to light violence through protesters and damage Panneer’s clean-image.’

Finally, he disproved all those false circulations because it is Pannerselvam himself who kind of imposed pressure and forced their party president and Amma’s close aide Sasikala to take up the top job he is leading in state.

Besides asking her to accept party workers’ request, Panner successfully managed to convince her to assume the CM’s post. Even in her official address to party workers later today, the new CM humbly said, “I would thank Panneerselvam for recommending my name to serve the people of Tamil Nadu. I will continue to actively take forward all the initiatives and agenda of Amma in the days to come.”

As Panner chose to continue to be the loyal worker of AIADMK party, he would certainly gain one of the top portfolios in Sasikala’s cabinet.
