Hero’s Father Fires On Director Of Son’s Flop Film

Bollywood hero Ranbir Kapoor may have been silent at the failure of his latest release ‘Jagga Jasoos’, but his very-vocal father Rishi Kapoor isn’t. He has lashed out at the film’s director Anurag Basu, calling him an ‘irresponsible director’.

In an interview, Rishi opined that the result would have been different had the film been trimmed by 20 minutes. “He’s such an irresponsible director that he doesn’t complete the film on time, and won’t care for opinion of even his producers. The film was supposed to release three times in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed,” the veteran actor said unabashedly.

Ranbir was also the co-producer of the film so he not just scored a flop and lost three years of his valuable time but also lost big chunk of money. Rishi Kapoor alleged that the director hasn’t showed the final copy to his son Ranbir, who was a co-producer until a day ahead of the film’s release.

“You may be the biggest director in the world but nobody would like to work with you if you are irresponsible,” he added.

Jagga Jasoo was in production for three years and its release had been postponed three times before it finally hit screens on 14th July.  The film has already been declared by trade experts as one of the biggest disasters.
