Jagan being criticized over YSR’s absence

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in 2019, after he promised the people of the state that he would bring his father, the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s rule back to the state again. Every scheme that Jagan introduced was named after YSR, and all of the YSRCP’s flags carried YSR’s image on them.

In recent days, this is one aspect that has been predominantly missing in the YSRCP. Most of the schemes of the YSRCP are now being named after Jagan, and Jagan’s image is being predominantly featured on the YSRCP flags. YSR’s and Jagan’s images are being placed at the centre, surrounded by the Navaratnalu schemes. These days, Jagan’s images are being seen more than YSR’s schemes.

Given that the YSRCP was formed with YSR’s name, and that Jagan came to power with the goodwill that his father left when he was the CM, Jagan is now being heavily criticised for imposing his rule and power, rather than sticking to his original methods. While some are saying that this is due to Jagan’s sister Sharmila also promising the Telangana state people Rajanna Rajyam, some are saying that it is purely self-indulgent on Jagan’s part.
