As expected, the winter sessions of AP Assembly started on a high note as the TDP didn’t back off from criticizing the AP government big time. The leader of the opposition Chandra Babu Naidu walked in the assembly with the damaged crops and asked the government for not providing aid to the farmers who lost their livelihood in the recent floods.
On the other side, the YCP has introduced a few bills stating that it was the main purpose of the hold of the assembly sessions. Yet TDP, who are determined to put pressure on the government, demanded a debate on the effect of Cyclone Nirav and the loss of crops. It is known that to this effect, along with CBN, 12 TDP leaders were suspended from the assembly.
Jagan in response said that the AP government is a pro-farmer one and there is no second thought about it. He further said that an honest survey has been done on the damage caused by the cyclone and the farmers will be compensated for the damaged crops by December 31st.
In that order Jagan asked where Naidu was present when the cyclone and floods hit the state. I still don’t understand why Chandrababu gets aggressive unnecessarily. In that order, Jagan satirically said he has heard somebody saying ‘CBN’ means ‘Corona ki Bhayapade Naidu’. After Jagan made these comments, all the YCP MLAs bursted into laughter.
However, it is notable that Jagan said that all the farmers will be paid for the loss in a desperate fashion after the opposition raised their voice on behalf of the farmers. Political analysts opine that Jagan could’ve started the sessions by announcing the decisions of his government to save flood and cyclone-hit farmers rather than introducing bills.
