AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already begun planning for 2024 elections. He is already begun plans to defeat the three TDP MPs who have managed to win despite a YSRCP wave in 2019. He is eyeing the seats represented by K Rammohan Naidu, Kesineni Nani and Galla Jayadev.
For the Vijayawada MP seat, which is represented by Kesineni Nani, Jagan is planning to put up a Kamma candidate. Jagan strongly feels that errors in caste combination were chiefly responsible for the defeat of YSRCP candidates. Both the seats were lost by slender margin. So, Jagan does not want any calculation to go wrong. He is now promoting former TDP leader and former MP Dasari Jairamesh as the possible candidate from Vijayawada LS seat. Dasari Jairamesh and is brother Dasari Balavardhan Rao, were the mainstay for the TDP in Gannavaram and Vijayawada. Now both are in the YSRCP.
Jagan feels that Jairamesh, who has deep connections in the Kamma community and has links to various groups, would be able to take on Kesineni Nani. Similarly, he is promoting Speaker Tammineni Sitaram’s son Chiranjeevi Nag and minister Dharmana Krishna Das’s son in north Andhra. One of them will take on Rammohan Naidu in the next elections.
