During the monsoon session in the parliament, which began on Monday, the opposition is sought to appeal to the government on dealing with the border tensions along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh with a China. Also owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, economic fallout and unemployment, aviation industry losses etc concerns kept raising. Many amendments have been made in different sectors and bills have been passed in Lok Sabha.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri addressed in Rajya Sabha over Aircraft Amendment Bill that was being discussed in the Upper House of Parliament on the second day.
During a heated discussion on Aircraft Bill, National congress party MP Praful Patel asserted, “4-5% ppl board flights one time in a year. If this number goes up to 10-15%, we would need a huge increase in number of airports and aircraft. Airlines are financially under losses due to COVID-19 and need funds.”
Reiterating the significance of civil aviation sector in the country, he said, at this rate India would need a massive boost in the number of airports and aircraft from government.
