Manchu Manoj has seen setbacks at the box office recently with films like Shaurya.. Attack. So Manoj had to be careful in the selection of scripts. Similarly, he took six months gap and finally teamed up director with S.K.Satya(Naa Rakumarudu fame) for a mass entertainer ‘Gunturodu’. ‘Kanche’ fame Pragya Jaiswal is the female lead in the film. Gunturodu initially slated for February 17 release but the film makers postponed the film to a later date for unavoidable reasons. As per the latest update they came up with a fresh release date on March 3.
Suprisingly Gunturodu will not have a solo release because it has to compete with three other films releasing on the same day. Heroine Anjali’s film ‘Chitrangada’ is slated for release on the same day. ‘Pelli Chupulu’ fame Vijay Devarakonda’s upcoming film ‘Dwaraka’ is also releasing on that day. A Tamil dubbed film ‘Metro’ is also hitting the screens on the same day.
Even though there is competition at the box office, Gunturodu has it’s advantages. Mass audience are eagerly waiting for their kind of films these days as all the heroes are coming up with different films. Moreover Manoj tasted success only with mass entertainer films till now. If the film offers minimum entertainment Manoj will surely score a decent hit. We have to wait and see how the film fares at the box office.
