Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who kickstarted the vaccination drive for the beneficiaries of above 60 and above 45 on March 1st by taking the first dose received his second dose of vaccine.
The Prime Minister administered the second dose of vaccine at the Delhi facility of the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) on Thursday. He appealed to the beneficiaries to take the vaccine dose.
Taking to Twitter, Narendra Modi shared the picture of him taking the vaccine dose and urged the beneficiaries to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus and called the vaccination one of the few ways to defeat the virus.
“Got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus. If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon,” PM Modi’s tweet reads.
PM Modi was given the Covaxin dose, developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). He received the second dose, 37 days after taking the first dose of the vaccine.
Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet the Chief Ministers of the states today, in the wake of a rise in fresh Coronavirus infections at an alarming level.
