Now, CBI to dig into Viveka’s murder case

The AP High Court has ordered for CBI probe in the brutal murder of YSRCP leader YS Vivekananda Reddy who is the uncle of AP CM YS Jagan. It’s been 11 months and there has been no progress in this case. Viveka’s daughter has approached the High Court for a detailed investigation.

The case had gone through a series of hearings by the High Court and finally the CBI is asked to take up the case. Speaking on it advocate on behalf of Viveka’s daughter said, “The High Court has asked CBI to probe this under extra ordinary circumstances. Even though the state government has appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT), the killers are yet to be traced.” The High Court also directed CBI to begin the probe from Pulivendula police station.

Expressing dissatisfaction, the court opined that the murderers might be inter-state ones and CBI has that advantage to nab such culprits. Also the court asked for a quicker enquiry.

YS Viveka was murdered on March 15th 2019 during the TDP’s tenure. Then CM Chandrababu had appointed SIT too and after his exit, Jagan did the same.
