NTR Family Uniting To Stall Varma Movie?

When maverick film maker Ram Gopal Varma announced that he would make a biopic on legendary actor and Telugu Desam Party founder president N T Rama Rao in the perspective of the latter’s widow Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, there was a hue and cry in the TDP.

Some TDP leaders like Babu Rajendra Prasad warned Varma of dire consequences if the latter did not take the clearance to his script from chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. They threatened that Varma would not be allowed to screen his film in Andhra theatres.

However, Varma cared a damn for the TDP leaders. He said he had every right to make a film on NTR according to his own views and nobody could stop him.

He even released the first look of his feature film on his social media platform. He declared that the title of the film would be “Lakshmi’s NTR”

It is learnt Naidu is trying to put an indirect pressure on Varma through NTR family not to go in for shooting of the film without changing the script.

NTR’s sons and daughters are planning to convey to Varma not to distort NTR’s life and give too much importance to Lakshmi Parvathi.

NTR’s daughter Daggubati Purandeswari, though strongly opposes Naidu, also joined the other members of the family to bring pressure on Varma not to go ahead with the film.

She said if a biopic on NTR was to be made, it should be very comprehensive, but it was not fair to make a film on such a big personality based on a one person’s point-of-view or perspective, she said.

Purandershwari appealed to Varma to consider the views of all family members of NTR before making a film on an iconic leader.
