A day after YS Jagan alleged that police personnel belonging to Kamma community are being promoted and elevated in their positions keeping the upcoming general elections in mind, AP DGP RP Thakur has sharply responded. Quashing Jagan’s allegation as baseless, Thakur made it clear that police officers doesn’t have caste. He said, “Ours is Khaki caste.”
Setting the record straight, Thakur said that the promotions have been give based on pure merit and nothing else. He said AP High Court’s guidelines have been strictly followed during promotions. He said he is ready to give proper answer if Election Commission raises any doubt. He said he has been working sincerely. He also said that the people know his character, nature as the Director General (DG) of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for which he has got huge recognition.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Chinarajappa has condemned YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s allegations. Chinarajappa said High Court guidelines have been duly followed in all the promotions. He also alleged that the Centre is trying to waive off the cases against YS Jagan.
