A Malayalam magazine Grihalakshmi has featured a model, poet and air hostess Gilu Joseph on its cover who is breastfeeding her own baby. It is believed that this move was carried out to challenge patriarchy.
In our country, breastfeeding is a taboo and is considered shameful when practiced in public places. Therefore, the magazine has made a move in the positive direction by trying to send out a message to the society’s moral police.
