Few days ago, YCP MP PV Midhun Reddy, Railwaykoduru MLA Koramutla Sreenivasulu and some party leaders have interacted with media and tried to clarify government’s stand on capital. While the issue got diverted and the government’s unilateral decisions and hasty acts have further intensified the protests in Amaravati, Midhun Reddy and YCP leaders of Kadapa are in news for other reasons.
Here is the catch. The picture of MP Midhun Reddy, MLA Sreenivasulu has gone viral. This is because of a person who is in the picture behind Midhun Reddy. The person is identified as none other than Kollam Gangireddy. Kollam Gangireddy is alias known as red sandalwood smuggler accussed Gangi Reddy. Besides being an accused in 27 red sandalwood cases, Gangi Reddy is the acquittal in Alipiri blast against former CM Chandrababu Naidu. Gangi Reddy was arrested by TDP government with great difficulty in 2015 from Sri Lanka. He was put in Kadapa central jail after his arrest in 2015.
Between 2017 January and 2018 January, Gangi Reddy was in jail under the PD Act. Since 2018 till Aug 2019, Gangi Reddy was in remand in Kadapa Central Jail. He got bail from Tirupati court in Aug 2019.
Given his background, Gangi Reddy being spotted in the background in the picture of YCP MP is widely shared by TDP supporters and netizens.
