Samantha turns farmer during the lockdown

Samantha Akkineni has optimised her time during this quarantine phase in rather entertaining ways. She posted frequently about her fitness regime, online tutorials, beauty tips etc to enthrall her fans. Samantha, however, is now taking a new step in life. She has been a heroine all these days but now she has turned to a farmer.

Samantha and Chaitu have a wonderful bungalow in Hyderabad. There are all amenities including a swimming pool at home. On the terrace of the house is a vacant lot ready to grow vegetables and other foods. Samantha looks to harvest these vegetables and also gave instructions on how to do micro green farming.

“My first harvest of cabbage micro greens”, she captioned the pic on Instagram. She suggested to have a tray, cocopeat, seeds and a cool room that has an entry for partial sunlight through the window. She further shared the harvesting steps for interested people that include, filling the tray with cocopeat, sprinkling the seeds and spraying water until it turns moist and instructed to close by leaving for four days, then spray water daily, and by 8th day the micro-greens would grow.

Sam also tagged Zeptogreens, a company that supplied seeds to her. This proves that Sam is not just a great actor but a nature lover who has keen interest in gardening for growing own plants. So without further ado, let us follow Sam and try this microgreen farming as well to beat the boredom!

My first harvest of cabbage microgreens 💚.. For those of you interested in growing your own … all you need is a tray , cocopeat , seeds and a cool room (I used my bedroom ) that has a window that lets sunlight partially in .. if the tray isn’t getting much sunlight , a bed side lamp can be placed near it .. 😊😊 Step 1: fill the tray with cocopeat … leave room at the top Step 2: sprinkle the seeds Step 3: spray water generously till the cocopeat is completely moist and cover the tray. Place the tray in the coolest area of your house next to a window .. if there is less sunlight you can use a bedside lamp (I did that ) . Leave it for 4 days .. (you can check on it everyday you ll see it sprout ) . On the 5th day remove the cover of the tray and spray water generously once everyday .. By day 8 your microgreens are ready to harvest upto day 14 💚… I got my seeds from @zeptogreens .. happy gardening 💚
