TDP boycotting AP assembly session

The Andhra Pradesh government is all set to conduct its one and only assembly session for this season, on May 20th. There’s going to be only one session due to the second wave of coronavirus.

Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan has issued a notification convening the session of the Assembly and the Council for the day. The Assembly Secretariat also issued a notification reminding the members of the Assembly and Legislative Council to follow the Covid 19 guidelines while attending the session and to be present for the session. The AP government is expected to announce the state budget during this session.

On the other hand, the Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) held a virtual meeting on Tuesday and decided to boycott the assembly session on Thursday. This is because members of the TDLP feel that the YSRCP government has failed in its administration and because it is running vindictive politics.

The TDLP also said that it would conduct a mock assembly session, explaining the vindictive nature of the YSRCP government, and also the way in which it has failed to contain coronavirus.
