Telangana MLA seeks Jagan’s help!

At a time when the Congress party in Telangana is fretting and fuming at YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over Pothireddypadu project issue, a Congress MLA from Telangana made a special request to Jagan on a different issue.

The MLA is Danasari Anasuya alias Seethakka, representing Mulugu assembly constituency. Even as her party leaders and MLAs are busy doing politics in Hyderabad, she has been quietly going ahead with her job – helping Adivasis in the interiors of her constituency in the forests of Eturu Nagaram in the present crisis times of Coronavirus.

While the MLA has been educating the tribals about the virus, she is also involved in distribution of food and other essentials to them in the wake of state-wide lockdown.

She has been trekking for miles to reach out to tribals in their hamlets located in the interior forests and provide them necessary help.

On Thursday, Seethakka travelled for over four and a half hours to cross streams and hills to attend to the needs of Chintalapadu trimal hamlet located in the present East Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh.

She spent a few hours with there with the Konda Reddi and Koya tribals and hand over rice, tamarind, chillis, oil, dal and other essentials to them, besides cash of Rs 500. Seethakka and her team members, including teachers, were given a rousing reception by the tribals.

Seethakka made a video appeal to Jagan Mohan Reddy to extend necessary help to the tribals in the interior areas.

“They have been without food for several days. We managed to reach these tribal areas with a lot of difficulty and extend whatever help we could do.There are no village volunteers in Chintalapadu,” she said.

The Telangana MLA said the tribals were not getting their monthly ration, let alone cash assistance.

“In the past, they used to buy essential items in local shandies. Now, they are closed because of lockdown. I request the AP government to do justice to the families of Konda Reddy tribes,” she told Jagan.
