Jagan Mohan Reddy is very ambitious and obsessed with his freebies, so-called welfare schemes from the second he got the CM chair. His sole focus is on their successful implementation. However, there are many schemes that turned out controversial and everyone raised concerns over its implementation and the criteria they have adopted to isolate the eligible persons.
As one of many, Kapu Nestam is getting so much criticism. Allegedly many people who belong to the Reddy community in Rayalaseema have been deemed as ‘Kapus’ and were issued caste certificates to prove their eligibility for this welfare scheme. As women are the beneficiaries under this scheme, it seems there is no problem for the family to change their caste ‘Officially’.
Many allegations under this fraud have been raised in Kadapa district so far and now the Kurnool district also witnessed the same kind of injustice. In Kurnool District, the beneficiaries from a Mandal and two villages have been brought into the limelight. In Bandi Atmakur Mandal’s Lingapur and BCpalem 22 people received amount issued by AP government under Kapu Nestam but 18 out of those 22 belong to the Reddy community.
Now, huge criticism raised over this ‘Kapu Nestam’ all of a sudden and the people are asserting that the YSRCP has been biased towards one community. This welfare scheme has gone completely off track and was exposed by the volunteer’s survey and other parameters. Jagan promised that Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari community families will be benefited under this scheme but allegedly, the sum was credited in the accounts of Reddy’s families.
