The abolition of the legislative council is not going to happen anytime soon as the center is very confused with the bill forwarded by the AP government. They came to know that, in only 5 states the legislative council is still active but the states that canceled the council in the past are again requesting for its revival.
So, the center wants to take time and they are thinking that they have to give a decision that appeals to the whole nation. They are also thinking of making the presence of council in every state a mandatory like Rajya Sabha. Now, Jagan who is very well aware of the Centre is quickly moving his pawns to get ahead of the TDP who have been troubling him so much in the council with their majority.
In 2021, Jagan will get more seats and after 2 years he will attain a complete majority. Until then any bill that goes into council will create nothing but ruckus and it is evident from the previous session. So, Jagan wants to get the majority in the council as soon as possible but he promised earlier that he won’t encourage any defections from the leaders without their resignation.
Hence Jagan wants to follow the way he dealt with Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad who resigned to his MLC post and re-elected as the MLC from the YSRCP. Now, the reports are out that 12 more opposition MLCs are ready to join the YSRCP along with Siva Reddy from Kadapa and Pothula Sunitha from Praksham.
So, Jagan is very confident of getting the majority in the council very soon as many TDP leaders are willing to be a part of the ever-powerful YSRCP except a few leaders like Yanama Ramakrishnudu, Nara Lokesh e.t.c. So, will Jagan take over the council from Chandra Babu by 2021? Or Is there any twist in the tail?
