Kashmir Debate: AP Division is Hot Topic

On Tuesday, yet again, the division of Andhra Pradesh has become central topic during hot debate on the division of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Congress MP Manish Tiwari and YCP MPs have debated on the issue.

Manish Tiwari had earlier alleged that the Centre had bypassed and grabbed the rights of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. He opined that it is a disobeying the Constitution as the opinion of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was not consulted.

YCP MP Geetha has immediately objected Manish’s comments and raised whether there was AP Assembly consent when AP was divided. YCP MPs have supported Geetha.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took strong objection to the manner in which AP was bifurcated.

He questioned the Congress over the division of Andhra Pradesh despite the fact that then AP state government, then AP Legislative Assembly and then AP Legislative Council had objected to the state division.

Earlier on Monday also, AP bifurcation became reference point in Parliament during the division of Kashmir.
