Media Questions NTR Then, But Not KCR Now?

It is almost a month after TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao took oath as Chief Minister of the state for the second time. There is one question on everyone’s mind and that is his silence on the State Cabinet which is yet to be formed. There is already discontent within the party and among people over this issue.

Along with KCR, only Mahmoud Ali was sworn in as the Home Minister while there were no other members who took oath. If one goes by the current scenario and type of politics practised in the state, it is evident that the Chief Minister’s autocratic behaviour has even shut the media from questioning him about the delay in formation of Cabinet.

When Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and there was a delay in the formation of Cabinet, the same media in Telugu states held him accountable and reminded him that he cannot act on his whims and fancies but needs to form a Cabinet. However, the Telugu media is completely mum over KCR’s postponement in formation of Cabinet.

While the news doing rounds is that KCR is waiting for auspicious days after Sankranthi, some believe that it is false propaganda as the actual reason is to poach Congress and key TDP leaders and offer them Cabinet berths. Whatever is the reason for delay, it is costing the state of Telangana its governance as our country is modelled on a Cabinet form of government and not a “Chief Ministerial form of government.”
