Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived at Ahmedabad’s Motera Stadium by 1.40 pm and the massive crowd was thrilled to see Trump and Modi sharing the Dias together. The stadium reverberated with the Indian and American National Anthems. And, Modi opened his speech by saying ‘Namaste Trump’.
Greeting the US President and the patiently seated crowd, Modi said today will be inscribed as special in the history. “Back in 2019, I was at the Howdy Modi event in Houston and today President Trump is here, all set to begin his iconic trip to India. India-US relations is not just a partnership. It has grown to be much closer, said Modi.
Modi continued by thanking the people of Gujarat for hosting this beautiful and successful event. “Mr Trump, the world’s biggest democracy welcomes you,” he said. “I think today we can see history being repeated. There is the statue of liberty in the US and we have the Statue of Unity. Our rich diversity, the unity within this diversity and vibrancy of diversity is shared between India and the US”.
Modi praised Trump by saying that the whole world knows what he has done to for US and Trump indeed has a vast vision. “It is a great honour to have Melania Trump in India. You have worked for a Healthy America,” says PM Modi.
