14Wing Commander Abhinandan is formally on Indian soil

The historic moment has just happened!

Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, captured by Pakistan on Wednesday, has been handed over officially by to India just minutes back (5.20 IST), at the Attari-Wagah Border. A massive crowd holding National flag waited for three hours to welcome their brave hero back to the country.

Abhinandan has been medically examined on Pak side and travelled his way from Lahore in Pakistan army vehicle. Media is speculating that Abhinandan must have kissed the soil on ground right when he entered. However, the general public was not allowed and missed what exactly has happened.

Ever since the pilot’s release was announced, the Army, Navy and Air Force, said they were prepared to tackle any attack from across the border. Currently, a special plane will fly from Amritsar to Delhi for Abhinandan to meet his family members.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in Kanyakumari, said that every India is proud of Abhinandan. It is also confirmed that Abhinandan will be interacting with media shortly.

However, getting a glimpse of the hero is yet to happen!
