National Awards 2017 winners list: Akshay Kumar wins Best Actor Award

The winners of the 64th National Film Awards have been announced. Chairperson Priyadarshan and members of the jury addressed the media on Friday, announcing the winners in different categories.

While last year, Bollywood had a clean sweep with Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut winning the coveted honours, this year, regional cinema too has found its place.

Here is the list of National Awards for films announced on Friday.

Best actor: Akshay Kumar for “Rustom”.

Best feature film: Marathi film “Kaasav”

Best actress: C.M. Surabhi for her role in Malayalam film “Minnaminungu-The Firefly”.

Best director: Rajesh Mapuska for his Marathi film “Ventilator”.

Best film on social issues: Amitabh Bachchan-starrer “Pink”

Best supporting actress: Zaira Wasim for “Dangal”

Best Hindi film: Sonan Kapoor-starrer “Neerja”

Best children film: “Dhanak”

Best Animation Film: Hindi film “Mahayodha Rama”

Best stunt choreography: Peter Hein (Pulimurugan)

Best Child Artist: Adhish Praveen (Kunju Daivam), Saj (Noor Islam), Manohara (Railway Children)

Best Male Playback Singer: Sundara Iyer (Joker)

Best Female Playback Singer: Iman Chakraborty

Best Screenplay (original): Syam Pushkaran (Maheshinte Prathikaram)

Best Screenplay (adapted): Sanjay Krishnaji patel (Dashakriya)

Special Jury award for Mohanlal for Pulimurugan, Janatha Garage and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol
