Infosys to ask 1000 Employees to Leave

In a huge development, the Indian IT major Infosys Limited could ask for nearly 1,000 senior and mid-level employees to leave. The company comes to this conclusion of pink slips after a bi-annual assessment of it’s performance.

This move is followed by it’s counterparts, including Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Capgemini and others, who’ve already taken up or on the verge of taking similar steps. Recently, Wipro have asked 600 of it’s high-level employees to leave and Cognizant come up with a voluntary separation programme.

After the US government led by President Donald Trump imposed restrictions on work visas, the Indian IT companies have decided to layoff their employees here in India. Instead, the Infosys has said it will hire 10,000 Americans in the next two years and open four centers in the US.

Also with the automation brought to the fore, the IT companies have no choice but to cut down the headcount and reduce in hiring in coming years.
