This week sees the release of four films. But the biggest of all is Rajasekhar’s film Garuda Vega.
While the other three films are made with modest budgets of Rs 3 to 5 cr, Rajasekhar’s come back movie is made with a whopping Rs 20 cr including print and publicity. Incidentally, the film is totally financed by Rajasekhar and his wife.
Even though the film has generated good buzz before the release, trade is wondering whether he has it in to draw audiences into theatres, which is necessary to recover the huge investment. In fact, the movie will decide the fate of this ‘angry young man’.
ETV Prabhakar’s maiden movie “Next Nuvve” and Hebbah Patel’s “Angel”, both of which are competing with Rajasekhar’s movie are not big ticket movies. They are made with low budget.
On the other hand, Siddharth’s dubbed movie “Gruham” is being released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages simultaneously. Siddharth is said to have recovered the production cost already by selling the satellite rights in all the three languages.
Only Rajasekhar has the biggest task to make money. However, Rajasekhar is confident that the film will strike a chord with the audiences.
