Rajasekhar Needs To Learn To Bargain

Sale of satellite rights is a huge industry. It’s a mirage and only people in a particular circle or people with the right connections in such circles can sell their films in a jiffy.

Otherwise, others are left waiting. Of course, there are hell lot of recommendations too. But big films never face such problems.

Next Nuvve which released last week finished satellite sales, but Garuda Vega which has been declared a success is still waiting to do business. In a way, they are lucky as they can get better prices for satellite rights.

Talk is that while the film is capable of getting at least Rs 5 crore, both Zee and Gemini are stuck at Rs 4 crore.

Similarly, Garuda team is asking for Rs 2.5 crore for Hindi, digital and dubbing rights. Even Angel was sold at Rs 1.40 crore. Since the film is suitable for Hindi audiences too, can’t Rajasekhar expect Rs 1 crore extra?

But the main problem with Garuda Vega is Jeevitha. She is the only person to talk in sittings. She is the one who has to do all dealings and bargain.

Also, since they haven’t done any business in a long time, she is finding it difficult to ask for the right price. If she gets Rs 5 for satellite and Rs 3 crore for Hindi, then she will recover the Rs 8 crore she invested.

Rs 4 crore invested by the producer, interest and other charges amounting to Rs 2-3 crores put in are to be made through theatre sales.
